A unique ensemble crossing the boundaries of classical, jazz and folk

Clare Southworth (flute), Lauren Scott (harp), Andy Scott (saxophone)

Caliente is an exciting and unique trio with a line up of flute, tenor saxophone and harp and repertoire that spans four centuries and many genres. Exploring the dynamic between composer and performer, Caliente perform music specially written by award winning composer Andy Scott alongside works by Rameau, Ravel and Piazzolla. Three top musicians present an engaging, stimulating and accessible event rooted in classical music with jazz and folk music influences.

All three musicians are experienced teachers (Royal Academy of Music, Royal Northern College of Music) as well as performers (soloists, RLPO, Hallé, Apollo Saxophone Quartet), and can offer educational workshops linked to a performance, including music from The Bad Tempered Flute CD (Nimbus Alliance).
